Audi launched 2010 MY prices for A4, A5, Q5

HERNDON, Va., Jul 17, 2009 - Audi today released pricing for the 2010 model-year Audi A4 sedan, Audi A5 coupe and Audi Q5 crossover vehicle, which are headed to authorized Audi dealerships to meet strong consumer demand.
Audi moved sales of the 2010 models ahead a few weeks following a successful sell-down of the previous model-year inventory. Sales of the 2009 Audi A5, for example, finished June 168% ahead of the sales pace set a year earlier. Demand for the all-new Audi Q5 has been exceptionally strong since its February introduction to consumers with sales hitting 5,701 so far this year.
Each of these models in the heart of the Audi lineup receives upgrades for the 2010 model year. A4 and A5 now feature LED tail lights in Premium Plus and Prestige lines, A5 gets the same fuel efficient 2.0 TFSI direct-injection engine offered in the A4, and Q5 Prestige offers an optional Luxury Package.
"Despite the economic headwinds that have affected all premium automotive brands this year, we see no signs of interest lagging in these three models," said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. "That's good news heading into the 2010 model year for our market share in the U.S., which has been hitting record levels. That's good news for our dealers, who are enjoying the enthusiasm the Audi brand is generating. We need to release these new models early because of our proactive management of unsold inventories and because Audi continues to bring new models to the freshest lineup in the luxury sector. Both trends will continue in the months ahead."
Audi expects to release 2010 pricing and model year changes for the remainder of its lineup within the next few weeks.

The New Audi A5 Sportback - This will make the A5 Sportback the entry model for the A5 model range.
The brand with the four rings leads the pack with a new vehicle concept: The Audi A5 Sportback combines the best of different automotive worlds. It is as emotional and elegant as a coupe, as comfortable as a sedan, and as practical as an Avant. The Sportback joins the Coupé and Cabriolet as the third member of the A5 model family - and at the same time creates a new segment. With an exciting design, great everyday utility and highly efficient and powerful TFSI, FSI and TDI engines, the A5 Sportback will arrive at Audi dealerships in September. The car will be open for ordering with an entry price of EUR 36,050 for the 2.0 TDI version. A version with an even more attractive price will follow in the middle of 2010. This will make the A5 Sportback the entry model for the A5 model range.
The A5 Sportback represents a milestone in car design. The five-door coupe excels in its elegant, elongated, sporty profile. The large hatchback fits perfectly into the tail-end styling. The spoiler lip and the diffuser insert provide contrast and emphasize the athletic tautness of the elongated contour. The coupe-like silhouette is the result of a roof section with a long, tapering roofline that is moderately lower by 36 mm (1.42 inches) than the A4 Sedan and of the short overhangs at the front and rear as well as the long wheelbase of 2,810 mm (9.22 feet) and the four frameless doors with their slim, dynamic window styling. The unusual hatchback design is distinctively emblematic of the vehicle’s excellent functionality. With the Sportback, the designers of the Avant are setting trends in tail-end design while combining sportiness, comfort and utility in a completely new way.
The unique functional concept in conjunction with the emotion-packed design creates a cutting-edge mix of coupe and Avant. The baggage volume of 480 liters (17.0 cubic feet) nearly equals that of the A4 Avant, and it has an impressive 980 liters (34.6 cubic feet) with the rear seatbacks folded down.
The A5 Sportback provides a full measure of comfort on all four seats and convenient entry and exit through every door. Despite the fact that its exterior height is less than that of the A4 Sedan and that its roof tapers at the rear, the Sportback has comparable headroom and legroom.
The powerplant of the A5 Sportback is another advance along the path of innovative technologies Audi has been charting: All engines are of the direct injection type - the diesel versions are sophisticated common rail TDI units while the gasoline engines are based on the FSI concept. All engines meet the EU5 exhaust emission standard. The diesel versions are equipped with particulate filters.
Initially the A5 Sportback will be available with a choice of two gasoline and three diesel engines. The two gasoline versions, the 2.0 TFSI quattro with an output of 155 kW (211 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque and the 3.2-liter V6 quattro generating 195 kW (265 hp) are both equipped with the Audi valvelift system. This feature can produce more power and higher torque as well as lower fuel consumption.
The following engines are also available right from the start: the 2.0 TDI with 125 kW (170 hp), 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), a 6-speed manual gearbox and start/stop system, the 2.7 TDI with 140 kW (190 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), and the three-liter V6 TDI with 176 kW (240 hp) plus an enormous 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of maximum torque and quattro all-wheel drive.
The newly developed ESP control with electronic differential lock on the front axle ensures noticeably improved steering response as on the Coupé and Cabriolet and compensates effectively for change-of-load reactions - which increases driving safety.
The perfect addition to this technology package is the Audi drive select dynamic driving system - this allows the driver to choose between three different modes which influences the throttle response characteristics, the shift points for the seven-speed S tronic or multitronic transmissions, and supports the servotronic steering. If the vehicle is equipped with the MMI operating system, a fourth, freely programmable level is also available.

Sportiness and elegant design are not mutually exclusive – at least when the designers at ABT Sportsline are involved. “It is important to capture the character of the car and emphasise its uniqueness”, says Hans-Juergen Abt, the General Manager of ABT Sportsline explaining the demands which are made on the creative department. The result is a breathtakingly beautiful cabrio, which is recognisable as a real “Allgäuer” not just due to its typical 4-pipe exhaust unit. The front with the ABT grill, which additionally accentuates the area around the headlights and fog lights, the front apron and the side sills – all give the open AS5 even more presence. The rear apron and exhaust unit perfectly suit the optics of the extraordinary vehicle. To round of the successful appearance ABT recommends the cool bold BR alloys in 19 or 20 inch respectively. The company from Allgäu of course also offers complete wheel sets with high-performance tyres.

The AS5 Cabrio is a fresh air sports car, which is also quick in a tailor-made suit. The technicians at ABT Sportsline ensure this. There are currently four performance increase packages available: with ABT POWER, which is the optimisation of the electronic engine management system, the 2.0 TFSI receives a sporty 275HP (202kW) instead of the serial 180 HP (132kW) or 211HP (155kW). With the 2.7 TDI, 190HP (140kW) become a high-torque 230HP (169kW). With the three litre diesel this is increased to 282HP or 207kW (series standard: 240HP / 176kW). The ABT POWER S technology is also available to the V6 diesel with the largest engine capacity, which also employs an ABT turbo charger. 310HP (228kW) then provide superior handling in all situations, and with 610Nm torque it’s full steam ahead. Logically this power also has to be restrained. The ABT braking unit or ABT sports braking unit correspond to the additional performance potential of the AS5 Cabrio and provide the necessary safety reserves in borderline situations.

The open AS5 provides enormous driving enjoyment, especially of course when the sun is shining. But even with the roof closed the beautiful cabrio looks extremely cool. Regardless of whether it is a car for leisure or business – the latest addition from ABT Sportsline is the ideal companion in all situations.

Customers who want to avoid that their neighbours suddenly shows up with the same car, are now given a guarantee by MTM that this will certainly not happen. The new programme MTM individual meets all customer wishes and creates a unique automobile. Therefore, MTM allows an individualisation of the car, as far as the ideas of the customer reach. Nothing can top this exclusivity.
Motoren Technik Mayer (MTM) now shows what the individualisation programme offers. Following customer requirements, the automobile manufacturer from the Upper Bavarian town Wettstetten has modified the Audi R8 to such an extent that a unique sports machine has been created and there is no second car like that.
The most striking novelty of the middle-engine super sports car with the aluminium body is the garish green paint. “Porsche 2D8“ is the exact name of this brash colour which became famous on the Porsche GT3. With this work, MTM confirms its love for details. As apart from the large-scale paint of the aluminium body, the internationally successful car refiner also painted areas in the engine compartment and has left further accents all over the car. Therefore, not only the colouring is unique, but also the manufacture.
On all four black brake callipers and on the black fuel cap, there is a green “R8” nameplate. The ultra-light MTM Bimoto light alloy wheels measuring 9x20 and 11x20 inches in glossy black, show the green nameplate “MTM forged” on one spoke per wheel and therefore refer to the high-quality forged technology of the rim. In the interior, the exciting car colour repeats at the seams of the suede MTM steering wheel and the “Quattro” nameplate on the glove department flap. Also, the “R8” logo on the gear-shift shines in green.
But the striking colour does not reduce MTM´s own stylishness. Therefore, Motoren Technik Mayer sticks to the characteristic two-colour paint which is typical for the Audi R8. Behind the doors an area measuring 12 inches and painted in glossy black renders a contrast and gives the car a distinctive R8-appearance.
And MTM would not be MTM when they settled with a new paint. Therefore, they also offer a significant performance enhancement. The especially developed compressor technology which made MTM famous all over the world, propels the performance of the V8-engine with 4.2 litres cubic capacity from 420 hp (313 kW) by a third up to breathtaking 560 hp (418 kW). Also the maximum torque increases by 34 percent from 430 to 580 Newton metres. MTM also offers this enormous power improvement for the Audi R8 with the V10-engine. By exchanging the motor electronics, the performance of the latter then increases from 520 hp (388 kW) to 560 hp (418 kW) as well.

The right sound is rendered by the new exhaust system with valve control which leads into four black ceramic-coated end pipes. Re-engineered side-blades which direct the airflow from behind the doors right into the middle engine provide the necessary air supply.
In order to transfer the newly gained power on the road, an extensive aerodynamics package renders the necessary downthrust. At the front, the splitter made of carbon fibre which is painted green on the top and matt black on the bottom thrusts the automobile on the tarmac. The side skirts and the rear diffuser, both also entirely made of green varnished carbon fibre hold the rear axle of this 4WD automobile on the road. Therefore, the MTM R8 achieves top speeds on the race track. In order to avoid hitting the ground on road bumps or garage exits, MTM added its Lift-up-System. This optionally elevates the front- or rear axle by 40 millimetres and enables the driver to master all everyday chicanes.
With the Audi R8 makeover, the world-wide renowned automobile manufacturer confirms that there are no limits to individual cars from MTM. This leads to exclusive automobiles in the highest production quality, precisely designed according to the wishes of the customer.

ABT Q5 – MORE THAN A SUV
With the ABT Q5 the world's largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group continues a series which has been extremely successful both technically and optically. This is because the classy yet sporty SUV is the latest in a range of exquisite vehicles, whose success began with the Touareg and was continued by the AS7 and Tiguan. The company from southern Germany has also developed a design for the new Q5, which makes the diverse car appear as powerful, confident and very harmonic. Pure class in every situation – that is precisely what this sublime SUV from ABT also stands for: the front spoiler and the prominent front grill find their equivalent in the fender extensions and door trims. Each detail is optically harmonised up to the crowning “finish”, formed by the rear wing and rear apron.
The design also continues in the interior: decorative inserts made of carbon leather improve the ambience and also give the “work place” a stylish and classy look. The ABT muffler is also part of the perfect appearance of the ABT Q5, and with its four tail pipes precisely indicates the sporting pedigree of the SUV. The use of BR alloys is also recommended, which look particularly good on the car in 22 inch form. The ABT Q5 looks impressive everywhere, be it at the golf course, by the opera or on the promenade. But the diverse sports car really wants to be driven, as thanks to the engineering art of the German company the engines are in even better condition: with ABT POWER, the 2.0 TDI offers a powerful 190HP (140kW) instead of 170HP (125kW). The Q5 goes about its work powerfully with the 3.0 TDI: with ABT POWER S it provides 310HP (228kW) on the road. Thanks to the enormous torque of 610Nm the engine can cope with ease in any situation. The 2.0 TSI is also excellently harmonised with the vehicle: with ABT POWER it offers a sporty 240HP (177kW) instead of the standard 211HP (155kW) and is soon going to be upgraded to 275 HP (203kW). In order to ensure that the SUV remains controllable, the ABT technicians have developed a finely tuned packet to lower the centre of gravity of the car and have attached corresponding springs. The ABT Sports braking unit (disc diameter: 380 millimetres) is responsible for providing perfect braking performance. Its built-in flexible steel brake lines, together with the large brake discs, provide lower fading in repeat braking manoeuvres.

Audi A4 allroad quattro

A vehicle that knows no boundaries: Audi is launching the A4 allroad quattro. With its permanent all-wheel drive and increased ground clearance, the A4 can handle any road or trail; it also offers driving pleasure – even on unpaved surfaces. Naturally, the Audi A4 allroad quattro features all the innovative technologies which impart to the A4 model line its superiority: a range of powerful and highly energy-efficient engines, Audi drive select (intelligent handling technology), the high-tech S tronic transmission, and innovative communication and assistance systems. The vehicle will be available in early summer at a basic price of 37,100 euros.
The design of the Audi A4 allroad quattro recalls the A4 Avant: crisp lines enclose tastefully curved surfaces and the low roof line establishes a coupé-like silhouette. Striking details re-interpret this model line’s sporty elegance. The moon-gray single-frame radiator grille bears vertical chrome strips; an accentuated bumper and large air inlets underscore this vehicle’s unique identity. Chrome rings encircle the fog lights. And in the option featuring xenon plus headlights, light-emitting diodes comprise the daytime running lights and taillights. Underneath the front end and tail end, the A4 allroad has a stainless-steel underbody guard.
The 2-liter TFSI – voted “Engine of the Year” on four consecutive occasions by an international panel of experts – incorporates three high-end technologies: FSI direct gasoline injection, the turbocharger, and the Audi valvelift system, which boosts pulling power by means of a variable control system. Between 1,500 and 4,200 rpm, the four-cylinder engine delivers 350 Nm of torque to the crankshaft. Peak output is 155 kW (211 bhp). In addition, the 2-liter TFSI propels the Audi A4 allroad quattro to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 6.9 seconds, and to a top speed of 230 km/h (142.92 mph). On average, it consumes a mere 8.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (29.04 mpg).
As for the 2.0 TDI, the successor to the most successful diesel engine ever, a common-rail system providing injection pressure of 1,800 bar ensures excellent driving refinement. The two-liter diesel engine delivers 350 Nm between 1,750 and 2.500 rpm. A respectable 125 kW (170 bhp) provides admirable output, yet requires just 6.4 liters of fuel per 100 km (36.75 mpg). The Audi A4 allroad quattro 2.0 TDI reaches 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 213 km/h (132.35 mph).
The very best of the three engines is the 3.0 TDI. This V6 diesel produces 176 kW (240 bhp) and transmits 500 Nm of torque to the crankshaft at 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. The 3.0 TDI in conjunction with S tronic propels the Audi A4 allroad quattro to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 6.4 seconds, and tops out at 236 km/h (146.64 mph). On average, the three-liter engine sips only 7.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (33.13 mpg). Like the other two engines, it already meets the EU’s Euro 5 emission standard.
