2009 MTM Bentley Continental GT - MTM's Birkin Edition upgrades performance of Bentley standard model

 – 650 Hp and 795 Nm with the Birkin Edition kit for the Continental GT, GTC, Flying Spur, GT Speed, GTC Speed and Continental Supersports
    – Unbeatable: the 331 km/h world record with MTM's Bentley Continental GT still stands after three years.
    – Exclusive 21-inch "bimoto" alloy rims.

1280x960 High Resolution wallpaper

Even though Bentley offers greater power and performance in the new Speed version standard models, the special series offer 650 Hp performance in addition to an exclusive sporty look. After nearly three years, the 331 km/h world record still stands – achieved by a sportscar with the MTM Bentley Continental GT. With MTM's Birkin Edition kit, the Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur series can be upgraded with an exclusive and sporty look, fully in line with the legendary Bentley Boys, who exerted such an influence on the racing scene around 75 years ago.

1600x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The modified performance data with which MTM has revived the Bentley cannot be documented in purely technical terms, but performance is also proved on the track in the true sense of the word "experience". The MTM Bentley took three seconds off the standard counterpart on the short Hockenheim circuit, and also three seconds in the 0 to 200 km/h sprint, which the MTM Bolide achieved in 15.9 seconds. No wonder: With his great love for detail and technical efficiency, the developer Roland Mayer pushed the crucial 90 more Hp out of the 12-cylinder standard engine at Wettstetten near Ingolstadt.  650 Hp is the result, and the in-house performance tests recorded 795 Nm, supported by a perfectly coordinated exhaust system with muffler and throttle control which, in addition to the increased performance, delivers a beguiling sound.

1600x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

As far as the optics and external appearance are concerned, MTM has made no obvious changes to the bodywork. The four-pipe exhaust system with MTM's F-Cantronic gives the tail its visual effect: approximately 30 mm lower than in the standard series. The small intelligent electronic control unit lowers the 2.4-tonner by 35 mm at the rear axle and by around 25 mm at the front axle. Combined with 21-inch alloy rims, the timeless Bimoto design lends an exclusive, sportier look to the Bentley, which not only offers more dynamics to buyers of new vehicles, but will also appeal to those who already drive a Bentley.

EUR 20,000 incl. VAT. MTM throws in the VAT, TÜV certification and assembly in the Birkin edition kit. Those who are still not satisfied can fall back on the MTM Individual program which, as the name implies, customises according to the buyer's wishes.

    – MTM performance enhancement to 635 Hp (467) and 650 Hp (478 kW)
    – MTM stainless steel exhaust system, centre and end muffler
    incl. throttle control
    – MTM 4-pipe rear spoiler
    – MTM 10.5x21-inch ET40 sports alloy rims
    – MTM 412 x 38 mm brakes for front axle, "diamond cut" brake discs
    "shiny silver" 6 disc-brake caliper
    – MTM F-Cantronic for pneumatic shock-absorbing chassis
(VA up to 35 mm, HA up to 25 mm lower)
    – MTM height-adjustable thread sports chassis
    – MTM spacers
    – MTM chromed grille
    – MTM guarantee, TÜV certification

The fastest woman on track found herself a new sponsor to join the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR)

My site was nominated for Best Blog of All Time!

Looks like the fastest woman on track, as media calls her, found herself a new sponsor to join the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR). LeoVince, the motorcycle exhausts manufacturer who is now title sponsor sponsor of Melissa Paris, is also supporting three teams competing in the World Superbike series.

“We are excited to add Melissa to the group of woman riders that we support, including Elena Meyers who is currently tearing it up in the WERA roadracing series,” says Tim Calhoun, Executive VP of LeoVince USA.

Melissa Paris finished 21st at the 2009 Daytona 200 (highest finish ever by a woman) riding a Yamaha R6. Paris cut her way through the World Supersport event at Miller Motorsports Park on May 31, which will be the first time a woman has ever competed at a World Supersport race.

“Miller is one of my favorite tracks and the opportunity to race the World Supersport race there was too good to pass up. We are going to do out best. It's not a factory effort but with the help of LeoVince, GYTR and the rest of my sponsors, I am confident Mark Rozema at Markbilt Racebikes will prepare a great ride for me. I am really looking forward to it,” says Melissa.

Melissa Paris entered her first race in 2004, less than an year after she first throw her leg over a motorcycle. She raced at Streets of Willow Springs, on nothing other than a CBR600RR. By the end of the season she achieved the expert status, but taking the advice of some more experienced friends, she switched to the 125GP class.

Riding a 1998 Aprilia RS125 bike, she secured her first win at Roebling Road in 2006. That was the start of a promising racing career...

If you are a lucky owner of a Ducati Desmosedici you will be delighted to find out that one specially dedicated track day is waiting for you. No noise or speed limits.

So go and prepare your ride for the Derbyshire circuit in Donington Park, the place to host world’s first Desmosedici track day on June 30. Track places will be limited to 75 and participants will be allowed to ride the full Moto GP circuit, which is not usually opened for track days.

The event will feature a parade lap of all Desmosedici owners, and guest appearances of test rider Vittoriano Guareschi and designer Alan Jenkins. There will also be a Ducati charity auction for Riders for Health, as well as technical seminars and a "behind the scenes" tour of Donington Park.

Auction prizes include: 2 paddock passes and lunch with Randy Mamola in Ducati Corse hospitality at the British Moto GP; a two-seater ride at British MotoGP with two paddock passes and a lunch at Ducati Corse Hospitality; an Xbox360 SBK 2008 game signed by Michel Fabrizio and Troy Bayliss; three posters signed by Casey Stoner.

There are two ticket costs for the day, one for those enrolling for the track places (£450 including VAT) and one for those who are not wishing to ride on track (£100 including VAT). Whatever your option is, you will still enjoy hospitality in one of Goddard suites including breakfast rolls on arrival, and a hot lunch as well as a prime view of the track.

The event’s organizers thought of everything, including your wish of preserving memories from the day, so they booked up a professional photographer to capture the moment. Don’t worry, nothing will ruin your day, as Bridgestone tires UK will take care of the tire service, while Ducati UK dealers are in charge of the technical and suspension tuning support.

2009 BMW introduces M3 Edition - With Powerful, aesthetic design, supreme performance and exclusive style

My site was nominated for Best Blog of All Time!

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

Powerful, aesthetic design, supreme performance and exclusive style – the unique characteristics of the BMW M3 are now available in highly attractive Edition Models focusing on the most outstanding highlights of these outstanding cars.

Based on the BMW M3 Coupé, the M3 Edition Models offer a choice of no less than four highly individual cars boasting perfectly harmonised modifications in body design and interior features as well as special light-alloy wheels and an even lower chassis.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The BMW M3 Edition Models will be entering the market worldwide in July 2009 in Alpine White, Black, Dakar Yellow, and Monte Carlo Blue. In the interest of supreme exclusivity their production period is limited to just six months.
Individual highlights both outside and inside.

On the BMW M3 Edition Models the exterior paintwork and interior design are individually matched to one another. Depending on the respective Edition model, the body comes either in Alpine White Non-Metallic, Black Non-Metallic, Dakar Yellow Non-Metallic or Monte Carlo Blue Metallic. The combination with BMW Individual High-Gloss Satin Chrome accentuates the truly sophisticated character of the Edition Models.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The openings on the engine compartment lid on all models are finished in black, the BMW kidney grille, the side gills and the dual tailpipes on the exhaust system come in dark eloxy-plated chrome. The caps on the special BMW M exterior mirrors are likewise finished in black and are connected to the A-pillars by dual arms extending out of the mirror base finished in body colour.

Special colour highlights add an individual touch also to the interior of the BMW M3 Edition Models. The surfaces on the centre armrest, the centre console and the armrests on the door panels are finished in White on the Alpine White and Black models. At the same time these Edition Models come with interior trim in Carbon Structure Leather with white contrasting seams. The seats in Black Novillo Leather feature bespoke contrasting seams as well as vertical trim stripes on the upper section of the backrest and at the front of the legrest. On the Alpine White and Black models, these features come in white, on the Dakar Yellow and Monte Carlo Blue models they are in the appropriate exterior colour.

As a further feature the armrests and door closing handles at the inside on the Dakar Yellow and Monte Carlo Blue models come with yellow and, respectively, blue contrasting seams. And last but certainly not least, entry trim bars in Checkered Flag Design bearing the "M3" model designation give all Edition Models yet another highlight.

Special rim design and lowered suspension.
To optimise the looks of the car, all four Edition Models come with specially designed light-alloy rims and a unique suspension: On all models the 19-inch forged M light-alloy rims in double-spoke design are available either in black or in the classic rim colour. And on the Alpine White, Black and Monte Carlo Blue models, the same rims are also available in a special white contrasting colour with polished spokes.

The suspension of the BMW M3 Edition Models adds to the sporting style of the cars, lowering the entire body by 10 millimetres or 0.4".

BMW M3: supreme performance with eight cylinders and seven gears.
The BMW M3 Edition Models give this high-performance athlete a particularly striking look also reflected by the car's supreme driving dynamics based on a unique all-round concept and drivetrain/suspension technology inspired by motorsport. The V8 high-speed power unit of the BMW M3 develops maximum output of 309 kW/420 hp from 4.0 litres.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheels either through the six-speed manual gearbox featured as standard or through the optional M double-clutch gearbox with Drivelogic enhancing both the dynamic performance and the all-round efficiency of the BMW M3 all in one. In this case acceleration to 100 km/h comes in 4.6 seconds (six-speed manual: 4.8 seconds) and average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle is 11.9 litres/23.7 mpg imp (six-speed manual: 12.4 litres/22.8 mpg imp)/100 kilometres.

The BMW M3 comes as standard with a lightweight carbon roof, while the options include Electronic Damper Control and the M Drive menu enabling the driver to configure individual, M-specific suspension and drivetrain functions just right for his personal style.

Citroën has provided its first hint at the interior styling of the all-new DS3 by unveiling a new iteration of the DS Inside concept model.

1280x905 High Resolution wallpaper

At its launch in early 2010, the DS3 will present owners with an unprecedented range of touches to express their personality, and the haute-couture cabin of the latest DS Inside goes some way to previewing the level of detail and individuality that will be available.

1280x905 High Resolution wallpaper

The dashboard is flowing and airy, whilst the instrument cluster, steering wheel and low, body-hugging seats extend the feeling of dynamism. Black chrome touches around the cabin and a thick lounge style carpet, leave the DS Inside exuding class, style and distinction. The concept is strikingly finished with a premium leather roof in pearlescent ivory with a powder-like finish that bears the DS insignia.

Randy de Puniet and Lucio Cecchinello at LCR Honda Playboy event in FLorence

Playboy party kicks off Mugello weekend for LCR Honda

A big weekend for LCR Honda at the team’s home round began in style on Thursday night. The collaboration between the MotoGP outfit and sponsor Playboy took a further step with the organisation of a party in Florence’s Central Park club, welcoming a huge attendance from the paddock and beyond.

Rider Randy de Puniet and Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello were joined by national stars of screen and print -in addition to the obligatory Playboy bunnies- as the LCR Honda Paddock Girl for the Gran Premio d’Italia Alice was chosen. The eventual winner was local lady Cristina Milan.

“It is another successful event for us in the collaboration with Playboy Italia,” said Cecchinello. “It is our home race, we’re in Italy, so we thought ‘why not put on a party to celebrate the occasion?’

“The relationship between us is a natural one; the combination of bikes and girls! Since the beginning of the year we have been working with them, and we are happy to work with such a powerful brand and help promote them in a special way. We hope to have a good performance this weekend with Randy and –why not?- get out best result of the year so far.”

Whilst the party continued through the night, one of the early departees was De Puniet. He needed to get some shut-eye before the opening Free Practice session at the Mugello circuit, which takes place on Friday afternoon.

“It’s a really good event, with lots of people here. Obviously I have a big day tomorrow so I can’t stay for long, but I hope that the people here have fun for me!” said the Frenchman. “I’m really looking forward to getting back on track after Le Mans, and Mugello is one of my favourite circuits. The best way that I can promote the team and the sponsors such as Playboy will be to have a good race, and I’m aiming for another top ten this weekend.”

BMW 315/1 Roadster - Outstanding success in motorsport.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The style has changed, but not the content: "Many German motorists see motoring not just as a comfortable and fast means of transport, but also as a sporting activity. These are people who, once they see an aerodynamic car body with a long and sleek engine compartment, as well as a speedometer extending all the way to 150 km/h, feel that strong yearning for wide open roads simply perfect for driving fast, for Alpine passes just begging to be conquered, and for ompetitors so easy to overtake."

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

It was precisely with these words that BMW announced the Company's first self-engineered roadster in 1934. And indeed, this concept with its six-cylinder power unit was destined to shape the future of the brand, extending all the way to the current BMW Z4.

The starting point for this development came at the Berlin Motor Show in May 1934. Here, together with the BMW 315 Saloon, BMW for the first time presented the prototype of a Sports Roadster with exceptionally attractive lines. Right behind the long and sleek engine compartment there were two sports seats tailored to the driver and front passenger protected by the low, raked windscreen and an mergency roof.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The rear end tapered out in an elegant sweep to the back of the car, adding a particular aerodynamic touch with excellent streamlining.

The radiator grille on this two-seater was inclined much further to the rear than on the Saloon, with mighty, sweeping front wheel arches extending on beneath the doors into the rear wheel arches. To reduce air drag to a minimum, the rear wheels were fully covered, while the body of the car itself rested on an electrically welded steel-pipe double frame with three crosswise box elements.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

Front suspension was made up of the upper track spring, wishbones further down and hydraulic lever-type dampers. The rear wheels, in turn, were mounted on a live axle incorporating semi-elliptic springs and hydraulic lever-type dampers.

Small but hot: six-cylinder power unit displacing 1.2 litres.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

Both the saloon and the sports car were powered by the same outstanding engine: a 1.5-litre straight-six developed out of the 1.2-litre originally featured in the former BMW 303. The crankcase and cylinder block of this outstanding engine were made of one single piece, the engine featured one camshaft beneath the block, with tappets operating the vertical hanging valves aligned in series via rocker arms. The intake and exhaust pipes, finally, were on the same side.

A feature quite unusual today is the different distances between the individual cylinders, with the second and third and, respectively, the fourth and fifth cylinders being further apart, the space in between being used for the crankshaft and amshaft bearings.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The crankshaft without any counterweights therefore ran in four bearings, just like the camshaft.

This was however not the reason for this particular design and configuration, which was rather attributable to the assembly process at the time, with the crankshaft being completely pre-assembled together with the connecting rods and pistons. And since the pistons, as a result, had to be inserted from beneath, the main bearings for the crankshaft had to remain outside of the cylinders, not extending into their contour lines. As a result, the main bearings had to be accommodated between cylinders spaced out at a large distance.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

While this power unit delivered maximum output of 34 hp on the saloon with its two carburettors, maximum output of the six-cylinder in the BMW 315/1 sports model was 40 hp. And the standard of efficiency offered was quite exceptional, BMW's engineers proudly stating that "this beautiful and fast sports car consumes only 10-2 litres of fuel on 100 km, with oil consumption between 0.1 and 0.2 kg. So in terms of running costs, it is no more expensive than a small car far lower down in the market".

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

With the public simply falling in love with the BMW 315/1, BMW decided to build the car in a small series - also because the Company wanted to make a more powerful entry into the prestigious world of motorsport. Starting in summer 1934, therefore, the very attractive BMW 315/1 was retailed at a substantial 5,200.- reichsmarks. The production model differed from the prototype primarily through the modified arrangement of the headlights and side ventilation grids taking the place of the bent openings originally featured on the first model.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

Outstanding success in motorsport.

Reaching a top speed of 120 km/h or 75 mph, the BMW 315/1 Roadster was one of the really serious contenders in the sports car market at its time. Indeed, BMW's story of success on the race track quickly took on even greater significance with this new model, the BMW 315/1 achieving its first significant success in the International 1934 Alpine Rally.

1920x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

The starter grid for this rally in Nice was made up of 127 truly outstanding cars looking at daily race sections of 500-600 kilometres to be covered at a minimum speed. On the fourth day there was an additional speed test at Stilfser Joch.

After covering precisely 2,867 kilometres or 1,778 miles, 96 of the 127 cars which had originally entered the race reached the finish line in Munich - 66 thereof without having lost one point. The five cars entered by the BMW Works Team were the only cars in their class to complete the International Alpine Trophy without one single penalty point, the BMW 315/1 Team Richard Brenner/Albert Kandl/Ernst v. Delius finishing first in their category.

Only 230 units of the BMW 315/1 were completed by mid-1935, many of them going to private drivers. One of them was Ralph Roese, a BMW works driver for many years, who built himself a BMW 315/1 Special. This was a complete re-build of the 315/1, the highly modified engine ultimately developing no less than 136 hp in a brand-new race car body weighing just 380 kg or 838 lb.

Given qualities of this kind, it is no surprise that this racing car finished first in its very first race at Nürburgring in 1936, a staggering 17 kilometres ahead of the competition. Understandably, this special model remained a great success over the years until finally winning the German Road Racing Championship in 1939.

Achieving this kind of success, both the drivers and the Company soon started looking for more: a car in the prestigious category up to two litres. And so it is no surprise that another, even more powerful version of the BMW Roadster - the 319/1 - entered the market in late 1934. Identical in its looks to the BMW 315/1 with the exception of the air vent on the engine compartment, the BMW 319/1 Roadster was powered by a 1.9-litre tuned to 55 hp and benefiting both from larger displacement and three larger downdraught carburettors.

Obviously, an engine like this was easily able to cope with a two-seater weighing just 780 kg, accelerating the roadster in standard trim to a top speed of pproximately 135 km/h or 84 mph. At the same time this was of course a truly exclusive car due to its retail price of 5,800 reichsmarks. Production from 1934-1936 therefore amounted to just 178 units, with the BMW 319/1 again bringing home outstanding success in motorsport.

Zero Gravity Released New Yamaha R1 Windscreens

Yamaha R1 seems to be in the center of attention for most motorcycle parts manufacturers. After Yoshimura recently released new aftermarket slip-on exhausts, it is now Zero Gravity’s turn to announce its new line of 2009 Yamaha YZF R1 windscreens.

The new line includes the SR Series' stock replacement, which is close to the OEM windscreens’ size and shape. The Double Bubble follows Yamaha R1’s race look lines and in the same time provides additional aerodynamics to the bike’s features.

The windscreen appears as a "bubble within a bubble" which is exactly how this windscreen is fabricated. It is factory pre-drilled (except certain racing applications), suitable for both street and track use, and made from 3mm Acrylic sheet. As well as the other Zero Gravity windscreens, Double Bubble features hand polished visible edges and distortion free optical clarity.

The new windscreens line is available in a wide color range, protected with a limited factory warranty and with a MSRP of $79,95 for the SR Series, $89,95 for the Double Bubble and $89,95 for the Sport Touring owners.

The Double Bubble is not, however, the only option available for R1 riders. Customers can also choose the "Race Tall" screen, similar in shape to the OEM screen but 1.5" taller than stock , which provides additional wind protection for street or track applications.

The first version of the Double Bubble appeared on Team ZG's 1995 Yamaha TZ250's ridden by Nick Ienatsch. Many of today's top riders use Zero Gravity to compete, from 6 time AMA Superbike champ Mat Mladin, to 2 time AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies & former Supersport champion Tommy Hayden on Team Yoshimura Suzuki, to Eric & Ben Bostrom, Jaimie Hacking & Jason DiSalvo.

New positioning
The new Laguna 2010 range has been designed in response to customer feedback since its European launch at the end of 2007. The revised range now boasts more aggressive styling, a simplified range structure, while building on the model's inherent strengths, quality, fuel-efficient engines and useful technology,

Aside from the changes, Laguna 2010 retains the impressive safety credentials of its predecessor, with 36 points out of 37 from Euro NCAP, the high levels of quality which have seen it rise to ‘TOP3' in its class in Europe, and lastly, the key 3 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Fuel efficiency
On the new Laguna 2010 range, two diesel engines are available as part of Renault's eco² label: dCi 110 and dCi 150 FAP.  Representing around 20% of sales in 2008, the dCi 110 has proved to be a real success. Appreciated for its fuel efficiency (a 745-mile range on a single tank with combined fuel economy of 57.6 mpg) and low CO 2   emissions, it still delivers performance which belies its engine size (240 Nm of torque). Emitting only 130g CO 2 per km, it gives clear advantages to retail and fleet customers from both an environmental and tax perspective.

Already leader in its class in terms of performance, quietness and fuel efficiency, the 2.0 diesel engine (M9R) is available with three power outputs: dCi 130, dCi 150 and dCi 180. The dCi 150 (core of the line up) is now available with and without FAP (particulate filter). The FAP version shows a significant decrease of CO 2 emissions close to 20 g/km. Thanks to the addition of variable power-assisted steering (GEP), new engine settings and revised gear ratios (in fourth, fifth and sixth), the dCi 150 is now part of Renault's eco² label, with emissions at just 139g per kilometre.

On Dynamique and above, Laguna is also available with the powerful, yet refined, 2.0 dCi 180 with maximum torque of 400 Nm for even greater driving pleasure.

A new navigation and multimedia offer
Two satellite navigation systems are available in the Laguna 2010 range. The best offer in its class for price and function, the Carminat TomTom® navigation system is now available on the Laguna 2010 as an option at £450, and as a version in its own right, TomTom Edition.

Carminat TomTom® is the combination of Renault's expertise as the pioneer in fully integrated car navigation systems (Carminat) for more than 25 years, with TomTom's technology as the European leader of mobile navigation.

Easy to use, this system offers all the functionalities required from a top-of-the-range system, with detailed and accurate maps on a large display ‘Birds-eye view' (5.8''), traffic information with alternative route, speed camera alerts (depending on country legislation), speed limit indicators, numerous points of interest (POI) and a large number of personalisation possibilities. Thanks to the SD card (supplied with the Carminat TomTom®), the user can easily update the system from his computer.

The 3D navigation system (DVD), is still the flagship offer, fully integrated in the dashboard (7” colour screen) with joystick control, plus 6-CD changer, MP3 compatibility, voice recognition and Bluetooth®.

Laguna 2010 features as standard the 3D Sound by Arkamys® with Bluetooth and MP3 connection (RCA socket), as currently seen on Laguna Coupé. The Bose® Sound system will be available in early 2010, delivering the finest sound quality on offer. Like its sister Coupé, Laguna 2010 will also offer the Multi-functional TunePoint with USB and iPod connections.

An attractive range
All the interiors have been improved in the Laguna 2010 range. Quality has been enhanced thanks to the use of satin paints (centre console and inserts) and harmonious colours.

On the entry-level Expression, carbon is the dominant colour. On the outside, the door handles and lateral moldings are body coloured and the window surrounds are finished in chrome.

The sport-oriented GT look taken from the previous GT version, is now fitted as standard on Dynamique and TomTom Edition versions. The more aggressive look includes: GT front bumper with air intakes, black surround headlights, smoked rear lights, pearl black door mirrors and twin chrome exhausts (except 2.0 16V 140 and dCi 110 eco²).

The Dynamique versions also benefit from higher equipment levels, with dual zone climate control, automatic parking brake, auto lights and wipers, rear parking sensors, satin chrome centre console, 3D Arkamys sound, Bluetooth and MP3 connection (RCA). In addition, a Premium Pack, costing £1,200, is available, providing electric and heated Alcantara sports seats, aluminum inserts and pedals.

Initiale remains the flagship of the range with luxury features including full leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and heated seats with memory, Xenons with directional headlights, front and rear parking sensors and wood interior detailing.

Since its launch in October 2007, Renault's third-generation Laguna has achieved its build quality objectives. After several customer studies and the release of independent agency publications (most recently ADAC's 2008 results, where Laguna III ranked in second place), the results for quality and reliability show that Laguna is in the 'TOP3' in terms of quality for product and services. The 3 year/100, 000 mile warranty is yet further proof of the company's belief in Laguna III as a class leader in terms of quality and reliability.

2009 Fornasari RR600 - The RR 600 is the latest Fornasari SUV

1600x1200 High Resolution wallpaper

It's characterized from the new LS2 Chevrolet engine 6.0 litres 8 V cylinders built under our specifics, from an improved mechanical, from shorter gearbox ratio and from a better power management.

The interiors have been improved, now are more comfortable and wider thanks to the solutions that increase the comfort inside. Preparations could have the maximum grade of customization, according with Fornasari philosophy. Both interior and exterior views are determined according to the clients' taste. The line is clearly distinguished by that one of RR450, both for the front and the back and the sides.

The steel piping chassis in molybdenum-chrome assures an extraordinary lightness and versatility. Suspensions, Proflex or Ohlins, have an independent oil tank.

These characteristics make the RR600 a car without competitors: its maximum speed arrives to 280 km/h and have an acceleration 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds. Body in carbon and Kevlar assures high resistance and great reliability.

The car, which weights only 1700 kg, has two motorizations: 500-600 hp.

As far as the gearbox is concerned, either the six-speed one or a 4 or 6-speed automatic one is available.

There is the possibility to choose more powerful engines on request.

The traction is integral 4WD. Power gets transmitted to the wheels in three different ways: by a central viscous joint 38/62, standard 40/60, or with reduced gears. Standard rims and tires are 20", but you can choose from 16" (races) up to 23", according to the clients' taste and use..

The soft and plain lines do not leave any space to stylistic frills, while aiming at an extreme functionality to reply to any needs in the most exclusive way.

The interior space and mechanics play a key role, by shaping volumes and proportions so that they slide swiftly in the air with no efforts.

The compact size (440 cm length by 206 cm width and 164 cm height) makes the overall aspect finer. The front makes no resistance to the wind, but enters between invisible lines though a bonnet of over 4 square meters. A quite high belt line does not avoid the full visibility from inside, while the pavilion closes up behind passengers in a way that remarks the power of the wheel-track.
The body is a 2-doors one, which makes it a real sports car. The door width gets to 140cm in order to let people in and sit in the back seats easily. This means that 5 people can feel comfortable in the large space they find inside. The bonnet opens like the one of a prototype for racing ready at the start of a 24h race. Wide as a sail, it shows the mechanics: a mass of noble technological materials like aluminium and carbon, all framed in light though very strong chrome pipes.

Interiors are in leather and aluminium, with particulars sometimes recalling the past (as for the ashtray inspired to the old fashioned deluxe cars) and accessories being the result of the most advanced technology, like satellite connection.
There are 5 large seats inside, with the back seat that can be split. The loading capability is noteworthy for a car showing so much of a sporting attitude without forgetting the undeniable needs of modern life.
All that recalls of the genuine hand manufactured cars. That's why we can find hand hammered and satin aluminium, hand-sewn seams in the leather, pure woollen fitted carpet with leather borders, pedal controls and other parts of the console crafted with care as unique pieces.
Instruments are rounded in shape and the metallic pointers are hand balanced, enriched by all those led lights so familiar to any collectors. Beneath the classic style we find the most advanced technology, as in the satellite alarm combined with the satellite navigator system, linked to the multimedia tool. The car is also furnished with a TV, a VTR player and a video camera for reverse gear.

Customization is a must. No colour range is taken for reference. Both interior and exterior views are determined according to the clients' taste. The most exclusive and even the most eccentric materials find their right place. Also, no limits are given for the engine: either 450 or 600 horse power, with 6-speed or automatic gearbox, suspensions ready to win the Dakar or the Grand Prix. Anything may be required and everything can be satisfied: Formula breaks, hand-hammered body in carbon or aluminium, and even 18" rims or the 23" dizzy 'rings', which can be combined with tires for either desert sands or high-speed circuits. Even the armour plating becomes peculiar on the RR600. With such a set of size, weight and mechanical features, this protection grants for the best safety solution with no diminishment in the performance level.

The Size is important for the whole car: a real maxi SUV. Desert wheel-tracks, an American wheel-base, a remarkable height from the ground, a top-class maximum travel of suspensions, ideal in/out angles, a feather-weight, power distribution on both axes as for GT and load distribution near to 50/50. That's all what makes of this off-road vehicle the most similar to a road vehicle in the world. Its small rolling and pitching allow for smooth driving, while both the power and engine elasticity let you forget to be inside a 5 seats' car. Power gets transmitted to the wheels by means of a central viscous joint releasing a 60% to the back limited-slip differential, while leaving the 40% power left to balance the front differential. As far as the gearbox is concerned, either the six-speed one or a 4-speed automatic one is available. Also, it is possible to set on board a version with reduced gears, but such a solution compels to a less sportive scheme of transmission. Brakes come from GM, but a possibility is given to choose the Brembo's ones. Alloy rims are, in alternative, of 18" - 20" or even 23" size AND they host tyres from the 285/55/18" up to the 305/35/23" ones.

The car's skeleton consists of a special steel piping chassis in molybdenum-chrome that means a real space-frame in a 5 users' model adaptation. More than 450 pipelines go across in order to obtain stiffness and torsion capability with a weight of less than 150 kg. The suspension triangles are equal on the four sides and they are mechanical jewels, with welding joints like those in Formula 1. The suspensions travel of 240 mm has been studied so as not to affect or change in any extent the geometrical configuration, as it had been set.

The heart consists of the latest generation of engines by General Motors' as reviewed by Fornasari in the U.S. under the specialist Mr. Cottrell. The result is a light but reliable complex all built in aluminium. Sparing of consumption, in compliance with law about gas emissions puts no limits to power exploitation, which comes to be underlined by great values of torque
